Emilie Horn, a third-year full-time student of the International Business programme at the KUE has been named a laureate of the nationwide INTERSTUDENT 2026 competition (Bachelor Studies)

We are proud to announce that Emilie Horn, a third-year full-time student of the International Business programme at the Krakow University of Economics, has been named a laureate of the nationwide INTERSTUDENT 2026 competition (Bachelor Studies).

The competition recognizes outstanding international students studying in Poland whose academic, social, and intercultural engagement brings tangible value to their universities and local communities.

The official award ceremony, during which the laureate received the statuette and diploma, took place on 29 January during the INTERSTUDENT Gala, organized as part of the conference “International Students in Poland 2025”. The event was held in the exceptional setting of the Wieliczka Salt Mine and brought together representatives of the academic community, public institutions, and organizations involved in the internationalization of higher education in Poland.

Although Emilie Horn originates from Germany, she was raised and educated in Brazil, which gives her a unique transnational and intercultural profile. These experiences translate into strong intercultural competencies and proficiency in six languages, including Polish. At the Krakow University of Economics, she actively supports the integration of international students, serving as a KUE International Ambassador.

Emilie Horn belongs to the top-performing students of the Krakow University of Economics. She holds the highest GPA (4.96) among students of the International Business programme and is a recipient of the Rector’s Scholarship for outstanding academic achievements.

Alongside her academic achievements, Emilie Horn is strongly engaged in social responsibility and sustainability-related initiatives. Since December 2023, she has served as President of the Green Deal Challenges Science Club, where she initiates research projects, conferences, Oxford-style debates, workshops, and events focused on sustainable development, greenwashing, and European Union policies.

About competition: The INTERSTUDENT competition, organized by the Perspektywy Education Foundation in cooperation with the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, is one of the most prestigious initiatives promoting the internationalization of Polish higher education. Its mission is to identify and promote international “university leaders” — students who combine excellent academic performance with social engagement and activities supporting multiculturalism.
