On April 23–24, the 2nd Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan was held with the participation of Sarvarkhon Buzrukhonov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Andrzej Szeptycki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland.
The main sessions took place at the University of Warsaw, and the following day, meetings and thematic panels continued at Lodz University of Technology.
This initiative fits into the new horizon of cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia, outlined during the recent EU-Central Asia Summit in Samarkand.
The Forum was organized at the initiative of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, in cooperation with the „Perspektywy” Educational Foundation.
A representative from the KUE International Relations Office attended the event.
The Forum provided an opportunity to learn more about the academic offerings of Uzbek universities and to meet with the delegation from UEK’s partner institution, the Tashkent State University of Economics. The University was represented by Professor Ulugbek Khalikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Jasur Umirzokov, Head of the International Cooperation Department. During the meeting, participants discussed the current collaboration and possible directions for its development, with particular focus on internships, scientific research, and joint conferences.
Representatives of the Tashkent State University of Economics will also visit KUE during the university’s 100th Jubilee in May, providing an opportunity to continue discussions with the KUE authorities.
